As the president/CEO of Diamond Directors, it is truly a
blessing from GOD and dream come true for me to be in this industry
providing direction for young men through baseball. After being released
by the Chicago Cubs organization after a short professional baseball
career, I began offering baseball skill training to some of the top
amateur baseball players in the East Cobb Marietta, GA area as well as
throughout the United States. Parents and players often contacted me
asking for advice in regards to the draft process and I was fortunate to
provide sound advice due to my experiences with being drafted twice by
the Cubs. It has been said that "I speak the truth!" The truth
and proper guidance is what parents and players are looking for.
In 2000, I began scouting for the Cincinnati Reds organization under the supervision of Steve Kring. That year I scouted several players and currently four of them are playing at the Major League level including Jeremy Hermida (Florida Marlins), Callix Crabbe (San Diego Padres), Jeff Keppinger (Cincinnati Reds) and Jason Bulger (Los Angeles Angels). After scouting for the Reds organization, I began to be mentored by Ed Hartwell, a former assistant scouting director for the Arizona Diamondbacks and former player agent for a successful sports management group (GAAMES). Under the supervision of Ed Hartwell, my knowledge for scouting and zeal for helping young baseball players grew stronger. In January of 2006, I established Diamond Directors which offers baseball skill training, consulting and sports management for professional and amateur players. I had my first taste of representing players in the June 2007 draft which was very successful for the company. We negotiated contracts for five players in our first year. Charlie Culberson was drafted by the San Francisco Giants with their 51st selection (1st round supplemental), Richie Lucas was a 4th round selection by the New York Mets, and Isaiah Froneberger was also a 4th round selection by the Colorado Rockies. Scott Robinson (Colorado Rockies) and Anthony Brown (Cincinnati Reds) were both drafted in 2006 below the the 25th round and attended Okaloosa Walton Community College before signing professional contracts. They both signed for top 10 round signing bonuses.
I feel that Diamond Directors has a promising future with the addition of several young, enthusiastic and experience baseball professionals that will assist me in directing the lives of all the young men that we are fortunate to manange in the game of baseball and in life. I take this job as president and CEO of Diamond Directors serious and continue to give all glory to GOD.
What makes Diamond Directors different is the fact that they we are making a difference.
